Finally, my first post on the RoadtoBrazil weblog.
Since, as most of you know, I am woefully unlearned in all things digitechnical, It has been one @#$%^&*() of a struggle to get this off the ground.
Forgive me if, for awhile, this blog looks plain and uninspired. The fact that you are able to read this first post is a major victory for me, and it makes me long for a thirteen yr old geek to teach me the finer points of doing simple tasks like blogging without hurting myself or using large electric power tools to adjust my laptop.
Ranting aside, Sandra and I, over the last few months have been sending out newsletters to our friends, partners, and interested acquaintances. E:mail newsletters are great, but they limit my ability to archive, post photos, make my writing available for public readership, and so with that all in mind, the RoadtoBrazil blog has become a reality.
This is 19 April, 2006, and within the next month, we are leaving our southwest Missouri cattle farm, and our homebuilding business and trekking off to the northeast of Brazil.
We have been dreaming of and working toward this since 2001 when we fell in love with Brazil on our first trip there.
God has opened so many doors to us, made so many connections for us, provided for us in ways that, as we look back are nothing short of incredible. There is no doubt in our minds that we are walking in His will for our lives, and for those of you who have never experienced the peace and contentment that comes from (first..) knowing that God isn’t mad at you about something, and (second…) that you are fulfilling a purpose with your life that actually will benefit other people as well as yourself, then by all means, explore the saving grace of Jesus.
Soon, I hope to archive some photo pages that will give you a glimpse into who we are, and maybe even why we do what we do. And above all, we hope you will join us on the RoadtoBrazil
