Transform: To change in structure, appearance or character,
Transformation: The process of being transformed,
Change is inevitable. And change can be incredibly difficult.
That perhaps is why we cling to the pleasant memories of the past with such tenacity, boldly remembering the good times of days gone by.
How is it that we can forget all the mundane, unpleasant, or even traumatic days of a few decades ago and remember so vividly a few instances of joy or pleasure?
In the church we fondly remember the revivals and great ministers of generations past. We idolize those days when whole communities were stirred by a visitation of God, but we forget the terrible conditions that caused those communities to cry out for that visitation.
We can rationalize that God somehow favored those generations or nations more than us. We can even become grasshoppers in our own sight and believe the challenges of our present times are more difficult than those of any other, so difficult that, in fact there is little hope.
Our good memories then become a prison to us, keeping us from pursuing the change we so desperately need, or like a drug, dulling our senses to reality.
The Church in this nation, in this generation is once again becoming weak, irrelevant to society and powerless to demonstrate the life-changing power of our God to the world around us. We can no longer afford to live in the shadow of our past victory. We must take our place.
Is it possible that we could once again become agents for change? Is it possible that the church could become the agent for the transformation of an entire community, affecting every aspect of social, economic and governmental process.
We believe it is. It is happening in every part of the world outside North America and Europe. We now have not only the lessons of history, but we have verifiable, demonstrable instances of God, in His Glory, visiting and changing whole communities, even to the healing of the land.
Can it happen here? In this city? We believe it can, and will happen here. God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He will not change. Revival has visited this city on a community-wide scale in the past, and if it has happened once, it can happen again.
We invite you to join us as we search for the keys that will open the door for a visitation in this community in our generation. A visitation of God exclusive of any particular group, but inclusive of all who are desperately hungry for His presence, a visitation of God that will bring Transformation.
